- On November 30, 2023, Council approved Item No. 20231130-013 authorizing the negotiation and execution of a comprehensive development agreement and all other documents and instruments necessary or desirable with Catellus Development Corporation d/b/a CDC Colony Park Holdings, L.P. (Catellus) for the development of 208 acres of City-owned land located at 7900 Loyola Lane, known as the Colony Park Sustainable Community, and authorizing the expenditure of $500,000 to reimburse Catellus for a portion of its pre-development services costs.
- On November 30, 2023, Council approved Ordinance 20231130-107 amending City Code Title 25 by rezoning property locally known as 7900 Loyola Lane to amend the planned unit development (PUD) base district zoning. The zoning amendment secures the goals and aspirations of the Colony Park Sustainable Community vision to achieve Council’s priorities as informed by over a decade of community engagement with stakeholders in existing adjacent neighborhoods.
- On October 23, 2023, the Planning Commission recommended the Colony Park Sustainable Community Plan Unit Development (PUD) zoning amendment for City Council approval.
- On June 8, 2023, Council approved Resolution No. 202306-08-054 relating to the Colony Park Sustainable Community Initiative and initiating changes to the existing Planned Unit Development (PUD) that is generally located in the vicinity north of Loyola Lane between Johnny Morris Road and Decker Lane. The City of Austin and Catellus Development Corporation, held a Colony Park Sustainable Community PUD outreach and engagement event for residents and other stakeholders. The event was an opportunity to learn about the proposed development plan and to offer suggestions and address questions & concerns.
